E carrier hierarchy
Hello mates,
We have already discussed about E1 and now we are here to discuss about the E2, E3 and such signals in the E-carrier hierarchy.
As we all know, E1 contains 32 bytes with 0th byte for framing and 16th byte for signaling. The rate of E1 is 2048 kbps (32*8/125u).
Similar to DS hierarchy, E hierarchy is formed by multiplexing of E1 signals as defined by standards. The rate and number of channels of each hierarchy are given below.
E1----2.048Mbps----30 voice----2 f and s
E2---8.448Mbps-----120 voice--8 f and s
E3---34.368Mbps---480 voice--32 f and s
E4--139.264Mbps-1920 voice-128 f and s
E5--565.148Mbps-7680 voice-512 f and s
**f and s refer to framing and signalling channels.
I am happy to listen your suggestions, doubts and ideas.
